Sock was helped by converting five of 10 break points and making just 16 unforced errors, compared to 29 for Johnson. Sock is one of three Americans among the 32 mens singles players alive, joining John Isner and Donald Young in the third round. No American men have made it to the second week of a Grand Slam tournament since the 2012 United States Open. Were all working hard, Sock told reporters at Roland Garros after the match. We come to these tournaments to win matches, and we believe in ourselves that we can win matches and play in the second week and keep advancing. It is the third time in seven Grand Slam tournament appearances that Sock has made the third round. He got that far in the 2012 and 2013 U.S. Open before losing to Nicolas Almagro and Janko Tipsarevic, respectively. Sock will face Dusan Lajovic in the third round, and he would meet No.

Posted by Renee Schiavone (Editor) , May 27, 2014 at 11:11 AM Next Previous Slideshow Download The following is a news release from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department: On Saturday, June 14th, 2014, from 8:00 am to 10:00 am, theRiverside Sheriffs Departments Southwest Station will host Coffee with a Cop . The event will be held at the Aromas Cafe, located at 29950 Hunter Rd #103 , in the city of Murrieta. Deputies from theSouthwest Station and French Valley Attorney community members will come together in an informal, neutral space to discuss community issues, build relationships, and drink coffee. All members of the French Valley Attorney community are invited to attend. There is no agenda or formal speeches, just casual conversations about your community, with those who serve. Coffee with a Cop provides a unique opportunity for community members to ask questions and learn more about the departments work in the French Valley Attorney neighborhood. The majority of contacts law enforcement has with the public happen during emergencies, or emotional situations. Those situations are not always the most effective times for relationship building with the community, and some community members may feel that officers are unapproachable on the street. Coffee with a Cop breaks down barriers and allows for a relaxed, one-on-one interaction. We hope that French Valley Attorney community members will feel comfortable to ask questions, bring concerns, or simply get to know our officers. These interactions are the foundation of community partnerships. Coffee with a Cop is a national initiative supported by the United States Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services. Similar events are held across the county, state and country, as local police departments strive to make lasting connections with the communities they serve. This program aims to advance the practice of community policing through improving relationships between police officers and community members one cup of coffee at a time. Anyone with questions should contact Lt. Matthew Aveling at theSouthwest Station at (951)-696-3000.

Photo: French Lick Resort FootGolf is a new sport that combines soccer and golf to create a cheap, easy-to-learn pastime. Families in southern Indiana can now try their hand (or foot) at a brand new sport. The new Footgolf course at the French Lick Resort and Casino is one of only a handfulin the state. The sport is a variation on classic golf, but instead of using a club, players try to kick a soccer ball into a 21-inch hole using as few shots as possible. The resort added Footgolf to its nine-hole Valley Links course about a month ago. French Lick Resort Golf Director Dave Harner said the sport is easy to learn and cheap to play. The tagline that weve started to use is, No club, no lessons, no stress, he said. FootGolfs ease is a huge part of the sports appeal not only to players, but to course owners. Faced with traditional golfs declining popularity, resorts are looking for new, low-cost ways to get beginners in the door. If mom and dad are playing golf and the kids are playing FootGolf, may be the kids will look ovre and say, hey, that look spretty cool, we want to try it, Harner said.
